On June 11, we had the pleasure of welcoming the team from Zesen HiFi , ClearAudio and Maxdigital to Van den Hul. What made this visit especially remarkable was the incredible journey they had already completed before arriving at our headquarters.
Our visitors had embarked on an impressive road trip from China all the way to Vienna, where they attended one of the most important audio exhibitions in Europe. After their time in Vienna, they continued their journey north to Denmark for a visit to Audio Group. From there, Van den Hul was the next destination on their packed itinerary.
However, getting to us turned out to be quite an adventure.
Travel Challenges Along the Way
Just before their planned arrival, the team faced an unexpected setback when their flight to Amsterdam was cancelled at the last minute. As a result, the group had to split into two separate parties.
Fortunately, one group was able to secure seats on a later flight the same day. Unfortunately, the second group was not as lucky and had to spend the night at Aalborg before continuing their journey the following day. Thankfully, those replacement flights went ahead as scheduled, and everyone eventually arrived safely.
Adapting the Program
Because the team arrived in two separate groups, we had to make several adjustments to the program we had prepared. The first group arrived right on time at 9:00 AM, while the second group did not reach us until around 3:30 PM.
This required a great deal of flexibility, improvisation, and creative planning throughout the day. In practice, it meant that much of the program was repeated to ensure both groups received the full Van den Hul experience.
Each group enjoyed:
- A guided tour of our facilities
- A presentation about the history of Van den Hul and the company’s journey over the year
- An in-depth introduction to our products, with a particular focus on our cables and phono cartridges
- Plenty of opportunities for discussion and questions
While this certainly kept everyone busy, it also allowed us to spend quality time with all of our visitors.

Good Food and Great Company
As there was some time available before the arrival of the second group, we organized a visit to Castle Cannenburch, one of the region’s most beautiful historic landmarks. The excursion offered a pleasant opportunity to explore a piece of Dutch history and provided a relaxing break between activities.
When the second group finally arrived at around 3:30 PM, we essentially started the program again. They received the same company tour and presentation, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the full Van den Hul experience. To make sure they did not miss out on our hospitality, we fired up the barbecue once more so they could also enjoy a freshly prepared meal.

A Challenging but Successful Day
Despite the flight cancellations, schedule changes, and the need to constantly adapt the program, the visit proved to be a great success. The day may have been a little chaotic at times, but it was filled with enthusiasm, interesting conversations, good food, and shared passion for high-quality audio.
