The PATCHBAY B5 (Halogen Free)
 The PATCHBAY B5 is one of our cables that was specially designed for a big pop recording studio complex in South Africa.
It now is available to all of our customers.
The attractively priced PATCHBAY B5 typically has been designed as a studio patch-bay cable fitting the standard mini patch-bay connectors from e.g. Neutrik.
The PATCHBAY B5 however is also perfectly suited for high quality internal (balanced) signal wiring inside (pre)amplifiers and mixing consoles and as a general purpose audio and car hi-fi interlink.
The design combination of a superior transmission quality, a very low conductor-conductor capacitance, a very high screening factor together with a high mechanical flexibility and a long durability, though not being easy to manage, successfully has been achieved.
The balanced construction, like our FLEXICON B4 cable, is made with two centre conductors each having 12 x 0.15 mm. strands. (AWG 24 each, respectively in red and black foamed polypropylene insulation).
The conductor material is large crystal OFC with a dense silver coating.
The resistance of the centre conductors each is 8.5 Ohm/100 meter.
The core-core capacitance is 44 pF/m.
The double screening is made of a 24 x 6 x 0.12 mm. stranded braid with underneath a Linear Structured Carbon ® saturated layer to further close the cable against HF signals and to dramatically improve the signal quality.
The total resistance of the screening is 1.7 Ohm/100 meter.
The external 5.0 mm. diameter jacket is made of HULLIFLEX ®, a material with superior properties compared to e.g. PVC; HULLIFLEX ® gives The PATCHBAY B5 a very long life span without any ageing effects.
The jacket colour is red.
The PATCHBAY B5 is available:
- On 200 m. reels.
Shipping: 1 x 200 m. reel packed in a 255 x 255 x 205 mm. box with a total shipping weight of 6.89 kg. The two ends of the reeled cable are closed with caps to prevent chemically polluted air from entering.
- Stereo pair box packed with RCA (unbalanced) connectors in 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 and 1.5 m. lengths.
- In six lead packed sets for AV applications with RCA (unbalanced) connectors in 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 and 1.5 m. lengths.
